Dragonslair Leonbergers is located in the small town of Wellington, OH, approximately 40 miles southwest of Cleveland, OH. The area is rural, but I'm located in town within walking distance of just about everything, including the veterinary clinic I use (although I don't actually walk there due to the lack of sidewalks).

My Leonbergers and I are well known in town since I walk the adult dogs on the main street and socialize puppies outside of the grocery store, drug store, hardware store and library. I suspect that most people don't know my name and think of me as "that woman with the big dogs". "Home" is an old Italianate Victorian house set on about an acre."

Buyer Beware! Be sure to ask to see certification of LPN1 status of the parents of any litter you consider. Thanks to the dedication and co-operation of many domestic and international Leonberger owners and breeders, our researchers, and the generosity of the LHF and the AKC CHF, we now have a genetic test available for the LPN1 mutation which causes severe, early onset Leonberger polyneuropathy.

Calvin, Brigitte, Lani, Melody and Ruby have tested clear of the LPN1 gene mutation. Visit the Comparative Neuromuscular Laboratory website for more information about LPN1 at: http://vetneuromuscular.ucsd.edu/cases/2014/March.html
